Current Board Officers
Kathleen Marvin originally joined NIRI in 208 and currently serves as President for the Rocky Mountain Chapter, having previously served as the Chapter’s Secretary. Kathleen is Director, Investor Relations, for CSG International. Since joining the company in 2000, she also held positions in business finance and corporate development. Prior to that, she was an equity analyst with Denver Investments covering the media and technology industries. Kathleen has over 20 years of experience in investor relations, financial analysis and portfolio management. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Iowa State University and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter.
David Banks has been a member of NIRI since 1996 and served as President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter from 2014-2016. He served the Chapter as Treasurer from 2010 to 2014 and also previously in 2005 and 2006. David has more than 25 years as an Investor Relations Officer and Corporate Communications practitioner, having served as IRO at two Fortune 500 companies between 2000 and 2009. He currently is Vice President of Investor Relations for DigitalGlobe, Inc. Prior to joining DigitalGlobe, he was Vice President of Investor Relations at Fiserv, Inc. in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He led Investor Relations and Corporate Communications activities for First Data, Corp. from 2000-2005, and spent 13 years with US WEST in a variety of Investor Relations and Communications roles. David is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and is a Colorado native.
Jennifer Almquist originally joined NIRI in 2007 and has served as Vice President and Communications Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter since 2013. Jennifer is President and Owner of Ivy Street Advisory, LLC, a Denver-based consulting firm specializing in investor relations, strategic communications and financial reporting for public and private U.S. companies. Prior to founding Ivy Street Advisory in 2010, Jennifer was the Director of Investor Relations and SEC Reporting at Crocs during the company’s 2009/2010 turnaround. Prior to Crocs, she served in a variety of investor relations and SEC reporting roles at StarTek, TeleTech, Coors and MacDermid. Jennifer is a Colorado native and a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado.
Heathe Cooper has been an active member of NIRI since 1998. She is currently serving her 6th term as Vice President and Membership Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter and has previously served the Chapter as Sponsorship Chair and on the Golden Summit Committees. Heathe has 30 years of experience in the graphic design industry and is currently Director of Sales & Project Management at Watermark, a communications design firm. Prior to joining Watermark, she spent over 20 years at Curran & Connors, becoming Regional Manager in the Rocky Mountain region after a successful stint in the Company's NY headquarters, Residing in Longmont, CO, Heathe has served nine years on the Board of Directors of The Longmont Humane Society and has more recently committed to serving her community via the Longmont Community Justice Partnership program.
Carole has been a member of NIRI since 1998 and currently serves as VP Programs Chair, having previously served as Membership Co-Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter. She most recently served as tw telecom’s Vice President of Investor Relations, including responsibilities for shareholder communications, corporate governance, company-wide messaging across constituencies as well as board interaction and participation in the Nominating and Governance committee meetings. She served at tw telecom from 2001 until late 2014 when the company was acquired by Level 3 Communications. Prior to that Carole held various Finance roles at US West and MediaOne, including Financial Planning, Corporate Development, Internal Audit and Investor Relations. She has 24 years experience in the Telecommunications Industry, with the majority spent in Investor Relations. Carole started her career in public accounting where she worked for Arthur Andersen & Co., including serving as an Audit Manager. Carole has an MBA from Fort Hays State University.
Ann Scott has been member of NIRI since 1999 and currently serves as Vice President and Sponsorship Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter. Ann is also a member of the NIRI Senior Roundtable. Ann Scott is Vice President, Investor Relations for Ball Corporation, a global supplier of metal packaging for beverage, food and household products customers and of aerospace and other technologies and services for the U.S. government. Ann joined Ball in 1988 and throughout her 25-year career moved into positions of increasing responsibility in the administrative, treasury and finance departments. After Ball relocated its corporate headquarters to Broomfield, Colorado in 1998, Ann assumed overall responsibility for the company’s investor relations program including serving on the disclosure and governance committees and as competitive intelligence liaison to the strategic planning department. Ann Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Ball State University.
Rebecca Palumbo became a member of NIRI in 2012 and currenty serves as Vice President and Programs Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter, having previously served as Programs Chair and as an Officer at Large. She is the Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Administration at Hallador Energy Company (NASDAQ: HNRG), a position she has held since March 2013. Her primary responsibilities are shareholder relations, managing corporate governance, and external financial reporting and compliance with the SEC and NASDAQ. Since she started her employment at Hallador in 1988, she has had various positions. Hallador is primarily a coal mining company, with operations in the Illinois Basin.
William I. Kent is serving as Programs Co-Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter. He has a diverse professional background which includes a number of senior level corporate investor relations positions. Mr. Kent currently serves as Director of Investor Relations for QEP Resources, Inc., an S&P 500 company, a leading independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company based in Denver, Colorado. Prior to joining QEP, Mr. Kent served as Senior Director of Investor Relations for Crocs, Inc. Mr. Kent holds an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He serves as a Senior Roundtable Member for the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
Kevin Kim is currently serving as a Sponsorships Co-Chair for the Rocky Mountain Chapter. He is the Global Senior Manager of Investor Relations at Molson Coors, a leading global beer company. Since joining the firm in 2013, he has improved the reach and impact of the Investor Relations program at Molson Coors. Prior to Molson Coors, Kevin served at Crocs, the footwear company, where for three years he served in investor relations and financial planning and analysis functions. Prior to that, Kevin was for several years a sell-side equity research analyst covering consumer stocks for Robert W. Baird and D.A. Davidson. Kevin graduated from the University of Oregon with a major in Economics and Political Science. He also earned his MBA from the University of Colorado Denver.
Karen Winkler has been an active member of NIRI since 2011 and currently serves as an Officer at Large for the chapter, having previously served as Secretary from 2015-2016 and as Programs Chair from 2013 to 2015. Karen is the Director of Investor Relations for Golden Minerals Company, a precious metals mining company headquartered in Golden, Colorado. Previously, she served in both investor relations and finance roles at ProLogis and in several financial analytics and planning roles at Qwest Communications. Karen has over 20 years of combined investor relations, finance and capital markets experience, having also worked in fixed income risk management for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City as well as Union Bank of Switzerland and Bear Stearns in London, England. Karen holds an MBA in Finance with an International Business emphasis from The Stern School of Business at New York University.
Steve Nutt has been an active member of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of NIRI since 2007. He held the offices of President, Membership Chair and Programs Co-Chair. Steve is the Account Manager for Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc., a position he held since 2007. He was a member of the Broadridge Steering Committee tasked with implementing and educating issuers on proxy distribution, the annual meeting process, and Notice & Access. He has over 20 years of experience in Account Management and is a Colorado native. Steve graduated from Colorado State University with an emphasis in business and entrepreneurship.
Pamela Solly originally joined NIRI in 1997. Pamela is the Vice President of Investor Relations for Lydian International. She has more than 20 years of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications experience. Prior to joining Lydian in December 2016, she was the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Responsibility for Thompson Creek Metals Company since May 2010. Prior to joining Thompson Creek, she was Vice President of Corporate Communications for Benefit Resource Group and Vice President of Investor Relations for Keating Investments. Pamela started her career at Cyprus Amax Minerals Company. During her 15-year tenure with Cyprus Amax, she held increasingly senior positions in the areas of investor relations and treasury services. Pamela holds a Master’s degree in International Management, with a finance specialization, from the University of Denver.
Ms. Dowling first became a NIRI member in October 1998 and, for the 2016-2017 program year, she is serving her first term as an Officer at Large. She currently serves as Director – Investor Relations for National Storage Affiliates Trust (NYSE: NSA), a self storage REIT headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado and which launched its IPO in April 2015. In this role, Ms. Dowling directs all aspects of Investor and Media Relations. Prior to joining NSA, she served as Manager – Investor Relations for PDC Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: PDCE), an oil and gas E&P company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Previously, Ms. Dowling worked with Aspect Energy, Inc., Chateau Communities (NYSE: CPJ) and Forest Oil Corporation (NYSE: FST), all Denver-based companies. Ms. Dowling graduated cum laude from Regis University with a dual-major Bachelor of Science Degree in Management – Finance emphasis and Marketing. She went on to earn a MBA – Finance and Accounting, also from Regis University.
Brenda Bell has been a member of NIRI since 2001. She is a former Chapter President and previously served four consecutive terms as Membership Chair and three terms as Sponsorship Chair. She has also served the Chapter as the Volunteer Coordinator, chaired the Golden Summit Awards Committee and served on the Membership Committee. Brenda has over 20 years of experience in the newswire industry and is currently a Regional Vice President for Business Wire, a Berkshire Hathaway company. Prior to joining Business Wire, she spent over 18 years at PR Newswire and held a variety of positions, ultimately becoming a Regional Sales Manager. She is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
Suzanne Brink has been a member of NIRI since 1999. She has served as the President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter, following her two years as Secretary and Communications Chair. She also participated on the Membership Committee in 2005 and served as the Treasurer in 2001. Suzanne is the 2011 recipient of the National Investor Relations Institute scholarship to the University of Michigan’s Theory and Practice of Investor Relations seminar. She has 15 years of experience in investor relations and corporate communications. Suzanne is the former Manager of Investor Relations for Royal Gold, a precious metals royalty and streaming company. Prior to that she was Manager of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations for Hauser, Inc. She holds an MBA from Washburn University.
Derek Cole is an active NIRI leader, having served on the NIRI National Board of Directors from 2008 through 2012, including Chairman of the Board in 2012. He also served as Chairman of the Working Group on Financial Disclosure for NIRI’s Standards of Practice for Investor Relations and as Co-Chairman of the national steering committee for the NIRI BioPharma Roundtable. Derek is a former President for the Rocky Mountain Chapter and previously served as Programs Chair, Secretary and Communications Chair. Derek is President of Investor Relations Advisory Solutions, a strategic advisory firm specializing in investor relations, corporate communications, capital raising support and media relations. Derek is a veteran investor relations practitioner with 25 years of experience in the capital markets and strategic planning and 20 years of dedicated investor relations and corporate communications experience focused on supporting the development of private and public companies. Derek is also past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Colorado BioScience Association.
Linda Dellett has been a member of NIRI since 1997. She previously served as the President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter, as well as Programs Chair, Membership Chair, Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator. Linda is a partner at IGNITE Public Relations and Investor Relations Consulting, which provides a full range of public relations and investor relations services. Linda is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in investor relations, public relations, corporate development, strategic planning and financial analysis. She has managed investor relations programs for Fortune 100, mid-cap and pre-IPO companies, including American Airlines, TCI (Tele-Communications, Inc.), Corporate Express, McDATA Corporation, Requisite Technology and LeftHand Networks. She holds an MBA from the University of Texas.
Karen Gross has been a member of NIRI since 1994. She is a former Director of the NIRI National Board of Directors and served as President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter for three years. She previously served the Chapter as Treasurer, Secretary, and Program Chair. Karen was formerly Vice President & Corporate Secretary for Royal Gold, Inc., a precious metals royalty and streaming company. She managed the Company's investor relations and corporate communication programs, and had overall responsibility for corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Karen has over 20 years of experience in the field of investor relations and corporate communications.
Deborah Kelly is a former President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter and was named as a NIRI Fellow in 2015. She has been active with NIRI, both nationally and locally, and has served on the NIRI National Board of Directors. Debbie is a partner with Genesis Incorporated and has more than 30 years of experience in corporate communications, investor relations, corporate affairs, employee communications, crisis communications, general management and marketing. She serves on the Board of Directors of Perdue Farms, Inc. and is Chair of the Governance Committee.
Jane Okun Bomba has been a member of NIRI since 1995. She served the Rocky Mountain Chapter as President, Program Chair, Membership Chair and Treasurer. She also served as a Director of the NIRI National Board of Directors. Jane is Senior Vice President Marketing; Chief Sustainability and Communications Officer for IHS. Previously, she held a number of investor relations and corporate finance positions, including managing investor relations at Velocom, Inc., MediaOne Group, and Northwest Airlines. She started as a CPA with Price Waterhouse. Jane serves on the boards of the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, and the American Diabetes Association. She holds a BGS and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Andy Schulz has been a member of NIRI since 2007. He has previously served the Rocky Mountain Chapter as President, Treasurer and Program Co-Chair. Andy is Executive Director, Investor Relations at RE/MAX, LLC. Previously, he held a number of leadership roles in investor relations, corporate finance, and accounting, including positions at Ping Identity, IHS, MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. and MarkWest Hydrocarbon. Andy began his career at Price Waterhouse. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Area of Emphasis in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Colorado.
Wendy Yang has been a member of NIRI since 1997. She has served as President, Program Co-Chair and Treasurer for the Rocky Mountain Chapter. In 2011, Wendy joined Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation as Vice President of Investor Relations and was previously with Brigus Gold, the predecessor company to Apollo Gold. She held investor relations positions for International Minerals, Queenstake Resources, Newmont Mining, Stillwater Mining, Golden Star Resources, Santa Fe Pacific Gold and AMAX. Wendy has over 20 years of mining industry experience in positions of increasing responsibility in investor relations and corporate communications. She is a former Director of the Denver Gold Group, a gold industry trade group, which organizes the world’s leading gold investment forums. Wendy has an MBA from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon.
