Wall Street - What You Think You Know Could be Harmful to Your Financial and Emotional Well-Being

DENVER, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) today announced that Robert Hagin will be visiting Denver on January 13 to conduct a workshop on investment. Understanding how capital markets work is a key obligation and responsibility for all investor relations professionals. Management expects their IR staff, counselors and service providers to be able to distinguish between fact and fiction when it comes to dealing with Wall Street.

Robert Hagin, an experienced investment practitioner and author of a new book "Investment Management -- Fact and Fiction" will join us to reveal several popular myths about investing. Applying the findings of several Nobel laureates and academics, Hagin replaces several poplar "myths" with little known "facts" about how financial markets really work, including analyzing the importance and usefulness of earnings and earnings forecasts. Most importantly, he will do this without any of the technical jargon that puts academic research out of the reach of most IR professionals.

Robert Hagin is an internationally distinguished financial researcher, educator, author, and investment practitioner. While working with Benjamin Graham (considered the father of security analysis) more than 40 years ago, he became one of the first persons to use computers to study the behavior of financial markets. He has taught at UCLA, the Wharton School, and in Executive Programs at Stanford, Dartmouth, and Harvard. He is recognized by both his colleagues and students as an outstanding teacher who can explain the complexities of the investment process in "English."

Dr. Hagin has worked for several of the major Wall Street firms including Kidder, Peabody & Co., Miller, Anderson & Sherrerd, and Morgan Stanley. He is currently President of Hagin Investment Research, Inc. where he writes Investment Insights for Investors, Consultants, and Fiduciaries.
