Public Company Disclosure: The Ever Changing Legal Landscape

Regulatory update by Brent Fassett, partner at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP

DENVER, CO., February 2, 2009 - The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) announced today that its February 10th meeting will feature Brent Fasset, Partner at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, who will discuss regulatory topics impacting publicly-traded companies and their communication strategies. The talk, which will include best practices and current examples, will be geared toward investor relation officers, finance executives, corporate secretaries and other senior level directors.

Who: Brent D. Fassett is a partner in the law firm of Cooley Godward Kronish. Based in Colorado, his practice focuses on the representation of emerging growth companies and the investors that support them with a particular focus on life sciences and health care companies.
What: Mr. Fassett will provide an update on important regulatory topics affecting all publicly-traded companies, including the following:
  • New SEC guidance on the use of company web sites;
  • The SEC's 21st Century Disclosure Initiative;
  • XBRL initiatives; and
  • IR in a volatile market, including new short selling regulations.
